A friend of ours sent this funny and scary story about a man....It made me laugh...and thought of sharing it with you All :-) .... READ ON:
A man was walking home alone late one foggy night, when behind him he hears:
BUMP...
BUMP...BUMP...
Walking faster, he looks back and through the fog h e makes out the image of an upright casket banging its way down the middle of the street toward him.
BUMP...
BUMP...
BUMP...
Terrified, the man begins to run toward his home, the casket bouncing quickly behind him
FASTER...
FASTER...
BUMP...
BUMP...
BUMP...
He runs up to his door, fumbles with his keys, opens the door, rushes in, slams and locks the door behind him. However, the casket crashes through his door, with the lid of the casket clappingclappity-
BUMP...clappity-
BUMP...clappity-
BUMP...
on his heels, the terrified man runs.
Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, the man locks himself in.
His heart is pounding; his head is reeling; his breath is coming in sobbing gasps.
With a loud CRASH the casket breaks down the door.
Bumping and clapping toward him.
The man screams and reaches for something, anything, but all he can find is a bottle of cough syrup!
Desperate, he throws the cough syrup at the casket…and,(hopefully you're read for this!!!)

My dream watch, Rolex

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, October 30, 2008 2 comments
My Aunt bought herself and her eldest son Rolex watches few years ago and when she showed hers to me I told to myself that someday I want to buy one for me. I know it is very expensive but why not? It isn’t just an ordinary watch. I checked out the Perpetual Diamonds who are authorized dealer of genuine Rolex watches and right now, they offer fair amount of discount from the maker’s suggested price. You can be sure that their Rolex watches are 100% genuine and authentic with serial numbers, plus Perpetual Diamonds pride themselves in their commitment to excellence and customer’s satisfaction.

Grape juice: Same heart benefits as wine?

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, October 30, 2008 0 comments
I always see chefs use wine in their cooking and drink the rest of left overs during mealtime. I wonder if wine really adds flavor to the meal. Anyway, doctors say that a glass of wine a day is good for your health especially on heart disease. I like the results of the reaesrch because we can still get the benefit of red wine without alcohol.
Mayo Clinic cardiologist Martha Grogan, M.D., and colleagues answer select questions from readers.
Probably. There is evidence that drinking red wine may reduce your risk of heart disease. This benefit is most likely due to a substance called resveratrol found in the skin and seeds of grapes — especially dark red and purple grapes. Resveratrol is also found in grape juice — especially juice made from the dark purple Concord grapes.

Recent studies have suggested that red and purple grape juices may provide the same heart-healthy benefits of red wine, including:

*Reducing the risk of blood clots
*Reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol
* Preventing damage to blood vessels in your heart
*Helping maintain a healthy blood pressure

Both red wine and grape juice also contain antioxidants called flavonoids, which have been shown to increase your high-density lipoprotein (HDL, or "good") cholesterol and lower your risk of clogged arteries (atherosclerosis), and may help lower blood pressure.

These findings on grape juice are good news for people who want the cardiovascular benefits of red wine without the alcohol.

Black Friday Holiday Shopping Promotion

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, October 28, 2008 2 comments
Even though shopping is one of my weaknesses, it is still hard to do it when holiday comes for gift shopping. I hate crowded places like mall and outlet stores when shopping. So I do some shopping online which saves me time, money and stamps and trip to post office. Some people wake up early for black friday shopping as early as 5am. I tried doing that, but never happened. I always ended up going like 8am when all sale items are almost gone. No shopping early on the day after thanksgiving anymore. I can still do that and buy sale items by going to iblackfriday.com. At iBlackFriday.com, they let you view the 2008 Black Friday ads weeks in advance and let you build up you holiday shopping lists where you will know exactly what items you want to buy on black Friday. That way, you do not need to wake up early and stand in line on Black Friday.

The great thing about iblackfriday.com is that by joining their notification list, you will know when new Black Friday ads are added to their site, plus they will alert you to when the black Friday items are available to purchase online at retailer's websites.

I will definitely shop at
Toys R Us for gifts for my nieces and nephews. They also offer electronics and video games for older kids. On Black Friday, you can save 30% off on all pet products toys and get $10 Toys R Us Gift Card w/Any $99 iPod Purchase. Shop online on Black Friday at iblackfriday.com without leaving the comfort of your home, plus save your precious time for yourself by sleeping for as long as you want.

If you or anyone you know has a breast cancer, here are some guidelines from a patient herself that would help her to ease the burden she is carrying and to totally focused on her health.

Alice Swank's Top 10 Tips for Breast Cancer Patients

• Let your family and friends help you.

• Don't be afraid to ask for help.

• Pray. If you're not religious, rely on your friends and family for spiritual support.

• Find a good cancer support group.

• Educate yourself about cancer.

• Don't overdose on information, or you'll scare yourself out of your wits.

• Keep your checkups with your doctors.

• Remember that humor is so important.

• Talk about it.

• Remember that it's okay to let some things go around your house.

You don't have to make the bed or do the dishes every day. You've got to take care of yourself—and it's perfectly okay to let other people help you.

To ease this process, here are some guidelines:'

Set times for meals and snacks. This provides the child with structure and predictability, much like a bedtime routine. This also decreases the amount of "grazing" or frequent snacking between mealtimes, which can have a negative effect on appetite.'

Offer only water between meals and snacks, and keep juice to a minimum.' Involve the child in planning meals and snacks and offer healthier options to choose between. For example: "Would you like an apple or a yogurt for a snack?" "Would you like carrots or green beans with dinner?"' Keep mealtimes calm, relaxed, and fun.

Encourage the child to try new foods, but never force a child to eat anything he or she does not want.' Make the same meal for everyone in household.' Allow your child to determine when she or he has had enough to eat.

Right Bird Feeders for Your Yard

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, October 28, 2008 0 comments
Back home in Texas, I love our backyard becuase the size is quite big enough for the size of our family. It is a well maintained yard with lots of flower and shrub we have planted. They grow back every year because they are perennial flower plants. We also planted flowers that attract birds and butterflies. The grasses are well maintained and stay green the whole summer and fall. We also planted some vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, squash and herbs.

The great thing about our backyard are those birds that go in there. So we put some bird feeders so the birds have something to eat when they go to our yard. My son adores those birds especially the humming birds and the cardinals. The problem is, before the birds get in to the feeder, the squirrels have already eaten the seeds. That is the reasonwhy we started looking for
squirrel-proof bird feeder. BirdFeeders.com is recognized worldwide as the leading wild bird feeding category. Theyoffers wild birds, humming birds and orioles, and wide variety of gorgeous and functional hummingbird feeders, bird houses, bird baths, foods, squirrels baffles, etc... You can even choose them by style, brand, feature, size value-priced, and construction. You name it, they have it!

At Bird Feeders.com, they also have section for helps and advices, bird watching 101, bird feeding 101, protecting birds and shop where they sell all kinds of bird feeders, accessories, replacement parts, sister products, hot buys and place to buy. That'ss where we found the birdfeeder we needed for our yard. Right now, they offer free ground shipping on all orders over$49.99.

Olive Oil: What are the Benefits?

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, October 28, 2008 2 comments
While I was reading something from Mayo Clinic.com, I came across this one about Olive Oil and thought of sharing it with you all. I use Olive Oil a lot when cooking and making salad dressing; it is healthier and good for my family's ealth. Here it is...

What are the health benefits of olive oil? Is extra-virgin oil better than regular olive oil?
Mayo Clinic dietitian
Katherine R.D., L.D., and colleagues answer select questions from readers.

Answer
When cooking with fats, olive oil is a healthy choice. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fat, which can lower your risk of heart disease by reducing the total and low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol levels in your blood.
In contrast, saturated and trans fats — such as butter, tropical oils and hydrogenated margarines — increase your risk of heart disease by increasing your total and LDL cholesterol levels.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), consuming about 2 tablespoons (23 grams) of olive oil a day may reduce your risk of heart disease. You can get the most benefit by substituting olive oil for saturated fats rather than just adding more olive oil to your diet. All types of olive oil provide monounsaturated fat, but "extra-virgin" or "virgin" olive oils are the least processed forms. As a result, they contain the highest levels of polyphenols, a powerful antioxidant.

The good thing about school is that every once in a while, the firemen would come and explain to the children about fire safety; even when my son was in Pre-school they also came in, that show us how important to be educated about the danger of fire and what we can do to avoid it and protect not only ourselves but also our possessions.

We can read in the newspapers or hear the news on television reporting fire in houses, apartments, office building and warehouses. I can’t imagine how devastating it would be to lose homes or even loved ones . But there is always a way to avoid it and
fireproof our homes and office buildings etc…. Insurance companies’ research shows the majority of fires are spread through the electrical cable or PVC piping system. KBS passive fire.com is a company that manufactures and sells products that are designed to help us fireproof our homes and buildings. Their fireproof sealant has been designed to stop fires on electrical cable, electrical cable and PVC Pipe penetrations and joints. By combining fire stopping, fire retarding, and fireproofing materials and methods, this complete system has been engineered to stop that loss.

KBS also has ALBI CLAD for interior and exterior structural
steel fireproofing and Fire protection for incombustible pipes of any kind and size, Wood Fire Protection, fire extinguishing agents (liquids and powders), overhead fire extinguishers. It gives us peace of mind knowing that there are products that protects our homes and business offices. With KBS help, we can lower the risks that threaten our homes and building facilities from fire and prevent loss.

7 Tpis to Cope with Financila Stress

Posted by Cecile at Monday, October 27, 2008 0 comments
There's plenty of bad news about the economy to go around. Stock values have plummeted, some people owe more money for their home than it's worth, and big banks are going under. So it's no wonder that almost everyone is worried about their bank accounts; in fact, 80 percent of Americans said their biggest worry is money. Clearly, those who are concerned about finances are not alone, and if you're looking to relieve some anxiety, follow these tips!

Stress Relief
A survey by the American Psychological Association (APA) found that half of Americans who are worried about their finances report having symptoms such as raised blood pressure, disturbed sleep, and a weakened immune system due to the stress.
1. Identify what worries you. Keep a journal or a blog about your thoughts and concerns. Sometimes just getting your thoughts out can be freeing. Or write down your expenses, and figure out where you can cut. When you see it all on paper, you may be shocked, for example, by how much you spend on eating out. Figuring out where you indulge will help identify where to cut back.
2. Talk about it. Don't suffer in silence. Research conducted by Wesley Mission found that 54 percent of people polled did not seek help or talk to anyone about their financial pressures. It may help you to find others who are in or have gotten through a similar situation to find out how they've coped. Or just use the conversation to get your mind off your problems for a little while. Not sure who to talk to? Try connecting through QH's Stress Management Support Group or Anxiety & Mental Health Support Group. You might also find support groups in your community or place of worship.
3. Don't self-medicate. The APA study shows that it's common to cope with stress by smoking, drinking, or indulging in poor eating habits. The report found that 43 percent of people said they overate, and 36 percent said they skipped a meal due to stress. Among smokers, two-thirds said they smoked more when they were stressed, and 17 percent said they drank more because of stress. If you or someone you know has a drinking problem, call the Alcohol and Drug Helpline at 1-800-821-4357.

Manage Your Stress
Money worries keeping you up at night? Follow these steps to help you relax and take control of your stress. 4. Exercise. Go for a run or brisk walk. Exercising releases endorphins and produces increased levels of serotonin, both of which are proven to lower your stress levels and make you feel more at ease. Best of all, a 30-minute walk around your neighborhood is completely free.
5. Don't cancel. Studies have shown that when money's tight, patients who have been seeing therapists for issues like depression are more likely to cancel their appointments. While this may seem like a solution to the financial concerns, it can have negative long-term effects on your well-being. Ask if your therapist offers a sliding scale payment schedule. Plus, some universities and community clinic may also offer services at a reduced rate..
6. Volunteer. Helping out at local community or religious organizations may be a good way to prevent you from dwelling on your own problems. It's a good way to feel like you're contributing and making a difference in other people's lives, which is sure to have a positive effect on your stress level.
7. Keep perspective. Although the situation probably seems dire, you will come out of it stronger. The APA cautions against overreacting. Remember to take some time for yourself—to read a book, watch a movie, pray, or just relax. The situation that's causing you stress won't disappear, but stepping away from it may help bring clarity and new insights on how to cope. Take care of yourself, too, by eating right, drinking plenty of water, and getting enough sleep.

Then, I heard about 123rf Search and Win, is having fun contest over on their website right now. The contest is very easy, all you have to do is refer people and have them register, then you will have the chance of winning the prize through them if they win the contest. And do you know what the prize is? It is a Wacom Bamboo ! Who wouldn’t want that for a prize? I am pretty sure I would love to have one for myself or credit for 123rf would be fine, too!
Cte450s_md-1
One more great thing about this is that all the pictures I have taken which I don’t have any idea where else I can use them is that; I can send them to their website for them to be used and make money from those who wants to use them. Isn’t great or what? The contest is easy and if you haven’t heard about 123rf yet, just go to their website and find the details on how to join and win the great prize. Keep in mid that you could win 1 of 10 packages of 20 123RF credits worth $20 or 1 Wacom Bamboo worth $79 they give away daily.

CITGO is Changing to Petro Express

Posted by Cecile at Saturday, October 25, 2008 0 comments
My cousin from Florida sent this to me via email and thought you guys might be interested reading. I don't know yet if it is true; I need to do some research about it. I just hope it's not!

IN ORLANDO LAST WEEK, AT A CITGO STATION REGULAR WAS PRICED AT $3.00 PER GALLON. THERE WERE NO CUSTOMERS . HOWEVER, ACROSS THE STREET WHERE I FUELED IT WAS SELLING FOR $3.09 PER GALLON AND ALL PUMPS THERE HAD CARS WAITING TO FUEL.

Have you noticed how the Citgo signs have disappeared in the past 7 -8 months? Very clever move by Chavez. But guess what CITGO IS CHANGING ITS NAME TO? This is serious Americans ... make sure you read. NEWS FLASH: Chavez is NOW getting a Russian Weapons Factory built by Putin. The RUSSIANS are building an AK-47 Kalashnikov Assault Rifle factory in Venezuela to give armament support to Communist Rebel groups throughout the Americas. Chavez NOW has IRANIANS operating his oil refineries in Venezuela for him. It is likely only a matter of time, if not already, before Chavez has Iranian built LONG RANGE missiles, with a variety of warhead types aimed at ... Guess Who?

CITGO is NOW in the process of Changing its name toPETRO EXPRESS due to the loss of gasoline sales in the USA due to the recent publicity of ownership by Chavez of Venezuela. Every dollar you spend with CITGO or PETRO EXPRESS gasoline will be used against you, your basic human rights, and your freedoms. He will start wars here in the Americas that will probably be the death of millions.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT because Chavez is starting to feel the loss of revenue from his holdings. HE OWNS CITGO. This is a very important move which everyone should be aware of. 'PETRO EXPRESS' IS ALSO 100% OWNED BY 'CHAVEZ.' KEEP THIS MEMO GOING SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING. BOYCOTT 'CITGO' AND 'PETRO EXPRESS'.

Custom Christmas Cards

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, October 23, 2008 0 comments
Christmas is just around the corner and sending Christmas card is one of the traditions my family and I have established after we are married on top of sending gifts and giving cookies to our neighbor and friends. So, this year, I decided to send Custom Christmas Cards, instead of the store bought cards I normally send them. I have been surfing the internet for quite awhile now and couldn’t find a company who print, sells and customize Christmas cards that suite my taste and my budget. I have a niece who has a passion to arts and to paint. I was really surprised when I saw her works when we visit them last year. I am sure she will be an artist someday. If she ever pursue her hobby and became an artist someday, she will face the same problems artists these days are facing which are being recognized publicly and so forth. I became so concern; so I went online and found artition.com, a website created especially for artists both new and old. With artition, they provides tools artists can use to become recognize without getting broke and know influential people in the industry of art. She was so happy when I told her about it. Upon joining the network these are some of the features artists will enjoy with like: unlimited upload and space, create your own virtual portfolio, connect with other artists and get inspired to name a few. You can even create groups, sell and buy art for free blog . When it comes to artist and their needs, Artition Social Network is the place for them. If you are an artist, visit their site now and be recognized by signing up.

My poor little guy missed the field trip.....

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, October 23, 2008 0 comments
I felt so sorry for my son yesterday when his teacher phoned me asking to pick him up for he is sick and threw up in the school bus on the way to school. My poor little man, he was very excited for the field trip. It was their first for this school year. They only two more field trip left. The Pre-K Class went to Blueberry Farm Pumpkin Patch without my son. He was not happy about that; he was so innocent and kept asking me why? Why isn't he going with the groups? He woke up this morning telling about Pumpkin Patch and that they will go there today. So he stayed home the whole day yesterday resting while his friends and classmates are enjoying the trip. To make up for that, we are going there as family on Saturday; and I am pretty sure he will enjoy it as well.

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, October 21, 2008 4 comments
Heart Disease and Sleep Apnea

People diagnosed with OSA tend to have a higher rate of heart related problems compared to the general public. It is believed that the stress that OSA places on the body, combined with a lack of oxygen, increases blood pressure, which in turn has other negative effects on your cardiovascular health. Approximately 50 percent of those diagnosed with OSA also have high blood pressure, compared to 25 percent of the general population that has high blood pressure. Here is a list of some cardiovascular health issues related to OSA.

High blood pressure (hypertension)
Heart failure (congestive heart failure)
Stroke
Coronary artery disease (atherosclerosis)
Atrial fibrillation (arrhythmias)

Diabetes and Sleep Apnea

Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome have both been linked with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Studies indicate that up to 50 percent of those living with diabetes may also have Sleep Apnea. Recently, manufacturers of CPAP equipment have been bringing more awareness to the medical community about the link between OSA and diabetes, in hopes that both diseases might be diagnosed at the same time.

I used to have sleep apnea before, and that was when I was pregnant with my son; whether I like it or not that time, I need to use CPAP machine for the sake of me and especially the baby. After I gave birth, still used it for few months before finally my apnea is gone. My hubby on the other hand, still use CPAP becuase he needs it. I tell you, it can be very dangerous when you have this kind of disease. We need to really take care of our health to avoid this disease or we will suffer the complications listed above.

Feels like winter now...

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, October 21, 2008 0 comments
It's been very cold lately here in Virginia and we need to start using our fireplace again even though it isn't winter yet. Where we used to live, the weather this time is still pretty hot and instead of using fireplace, we would still be using or running the air-conditioner on. I am glad we moved here, for I can't stand the heat in Texas; can't even go for a walk for the temperature there can be high as 85% and up right now!

Want free asparagus?

Posted by Cecile at Sunday, October 19, 2008 9 comments
When I served a mission for our church for 1 and a 1/2 year in 1996-1998, asparagus is not a problem with us. It wasn't only cheap, but we don't need to buy it. Why? Because in the place where I served in General Santos City, Dole has a very big asparagus, bananas and pineapples plantations. Members of the church work there and they just give it to us free! Back then, I wasn't a fan of asparagus and that's when I learned to eat it especially if you got nothing to eat. Now, asparagus is very expensive especially here in the U.S. I just wished I could go back there and get some to take here with me, that way I don't have to worry buying expensive asparagus at all.
