The Last Christmas with Family

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, December 17, 2008 5 comments
When was the last time that you spent Christmas with the whole family?

That was before I came here in America, 2000. And that was it. I am hoping to spend Chrismas with them next year with my hubby and son. It would be very exciting since that will be the first time that my family and hubby will finally meet in person. I can not wait. My family have been anxious to meet him and vice versa. Oh how I miss my family so much especially this time of the year! All in all it has been 8 years since I have spent my last Christmas with them, sad but what can I do? I have my own family now and as always when our budget allows us, we will go right away; plus my son and I were there summer last year!

Another one of those busy day!

I am so happy that I did a lot of things today. I have started my day with dropping up my son at the daycare, followed by a trip to the post office to mail the bills. Then I returned home, have breakfast, checked emails, blogs, friendster, ldslinkup and balanced the check. The house is not dirty, but it needed some tidying up because of my son who never gets tired of leaving his toys and stuffs on the floor. I did the weekly laundry, too, plus changing the beddings and putting them on the washing machine as well; so it was really y a long day of laundry for me. I made a nice dinner for my hubby for that is the only consolation he gets from us from working twelve hours a day, five days a week. I feel so sorry for him that he needs to work that long; that by the time he gets home, the only thing he can do was to eat dinner, take a shower and go to bed because of tiredness. We only have time to sit and talk when he is off. I am now done except with the folding of the clothes and reading my scriptures before going to bed; once again, will stay up late tonight! I am tired, but happy for all the things I have accomplished today!

Mammogram test results

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, July 02, 2008 5 comments
Last month, June 12, I went to the hospital for a mammogram test and just today I got the result of it. In the letter it says that they needed another test to complete the evaluation because they have found something in my breast of which might be benign or something not to worry about. I am still scared even though they did say that. My husband was not worried at all because her mother went through this twice and she is fine. I just hope and pray that my next test which will be on the 15th of this month would be clear and that they will find nothing in there. I have been through a lot the past six years, from complicated c-section that almost killed me and my son to a follow up surgery after the c-section, followed by my kidney that stopped working that lead me to an eight months in dialysis. I am still thankful to the donor who gave me their son’s two little kidneys. I was given a second life and I am and will always be forever grateful for that. My friends and family calls me a walking miracle because of all the things that have happened to me. Now, I might be facing another health problem. I am praying to my Heavenly Father that He would once again spare my life for the sake of my family. He has been there for me ever since and I know He will never fail me. I know this is just another trial of our faith and that this will help strengthen our testimony and faith in HIM!

the story of Us!

Posted by Cecile at Saturday, May 03, 2008 1 comments
It all started when I was living overseas (Malaysia). I learned to used the computer while living there. I was also looking for a future eternal companion. Then I happened to see the website for single Latter Day Saints (http://www.ldssingles.com/). I was so glad for that; that's where Matt and I met. We sent emails and phoned each other for six months; then we decided see each other in person. I wasn't really sure that time whether he was coming or not; but I agreed anyway. He came in March 2000 as a birthday present for me. We were both so happy and felt as if we have known each other for a long time. He proposed to me the next day and I didn't know what to say; so I didn't say anything. I have no idea what he must have felt that time; but he didn't give up. He proposed again the next day and that's when I say "yes" (because I prayed about it the night before and felt a warm and peaceful feelings, I knew right then and there that my prayer was answered). Six months later, I got my visa and then flew to California; and got married two weeks later. We were married at LDS temple in Albuquerque, New Mexico in Sept of 2001.We have been married now for nearly seven years; and been happy since. We have up and downs in our life as a couple; but we managed to resolved them with God's help, of course. Look at us now; we are still here together. We are both working hard to stay together forever. Trials and tribulations made us and still making us stronger and better individuals and couple. We are both happy and contented in our life. We got nothing, but we have everything... US!

Living in Malaysia

Posted by Cecile at Saturday, April 05, 2008 0 comments
This was taken when I was living in Malaysia. It was Christmas and I was alone; my Aunt and her family spent their Christmas in the Philippines. It was the loneliest Christmas of my life away from my family.

Yes, it was me in the blue t-shirt with my Aunt on the right. I was still slim, oh! how I missed that body. This was during the Independence Day Filipino Community celebration in one of the biggest mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
