My family and I love eating and cooking; that is why I cook a lot of variety of foods in our kitchen. One of our favorites is shrimp. I came in a country with lots of different sea foods, fresh and inexpensive. I learned to cook by watching my mother cooks seafoods in a lot of ways. I love shrimp because it is very easy to cook; in just a matter of minutes you have it, ready to be eaten. I cook it the easiest way I know; after cleaning (removing the skin, deveining and rinsing)., just drop it on a hot wok with a very little vegetables oil or butter and minced garlic, I stir it a little bit, then seasoned with salt and pepper, cover and let it steam for a minute or two then here you have a very delicious shrimp and top it with chopped parsley. Another way to cook it is to grill it. First of course you have to clean it, dried it with paper towel, then seasoned it with salt and pepper and brush it with a little oil with minced garlic, put it on skewers and then grill it for minutes or till the color turns pink. This seafood would be a very great contender in the seafood’s Cook off because is very easy to cook, yet delicious and very easy to find. You can even find it fresh in the seafood section of your favorite grocery stores and Asian markets. You can make scampi, or put it in soup, seafoods jambalaya, stirred fried vegetables and not to mention the shrimp cocktail and many more. I am very excited for the seafood’s Cook off because everybody loves sea foods and shrimp is the all time favorites. I am very positive that it is going to be a big winner in the Cook off competition because of its versatility.
Anyway, I heard this contest about Seafood Cook off in Louisiana. It is a two day events. The Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board (LSPMB) presented the fourth annual at ErnesCook off t N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans on August 4 – 5. Select chefs from coast to coast showcased their art, the value of domestic seafood, and the simplicity of cooking seafood at home. Open to the public for the first time, Day 2 was all about the home cook. One of America’s most prestigious culinary competitions, one chef and one state will walk away with the title of King of American Seafood. If you know how to cook and have recipes of your own, you are free to share them at Cook off, who knows you might be crowned as King of American seafood.
