We've Found New Friends!

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, September 28, 2010 1 comments
This week, we attended a Family Fun Night at my son's school. It starts at 5:30pm with a free dinner (pizza and soda), followed by activities the school prepared for the kids with their parents. When we were eating dinner, my husband told me that the woman seating next to the table we were in is a Filipino. He asked me to talk with her, but I was hesitant because I wasn't really sure whether she is indeed a Pinoy. So hubby took the liberty of asking her and he was right! They are Pinoys; to make the story short, we talked and were able to get to know each other while our sons attended activities together. Not only I've found a friend, but also a walking buddy :-). Since then, we talk over the phone everyday and also walk on the park. Thank goodness, I finally found a friend, and she is a Filipino! Our sons are friends, too and belong to the same class.

Mommy Moments: Snack Time

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, September 23, 2010 7 comments
It's Mommy Moments once again; time flies so fast for us his week for we have been very busy. Seems to me like it was yesterday when I posted my last entry for MM. Anyway, the theme for this week is "snack time." Here is Jake's fave snack foods after he gets home from school. He is hungry everyday after school and so he eats these foods on snack time, too.

Cake and ice cream....
spaghetti, his most fave foods...be it at snack time or any time of the day.
Cereal is his breakfast food, too but he eats it on snack time as well.

Jacob's First Day of School

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, September 22, 2010 2 comments
Here's a couple of pictures I took before my son went to school this fall. He looked happy and excited here, but it was actually the opposite. He had anxiety that time and didn't want to go to school. His anxiety lasted for two weeks. Hubby and I were relieved when he finally came back to his old self. He loves going to school again and is very excited every morning.

Fall’s Hottest Entertainment

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of TiVo. All opinions are 100% mine.

Just like many TiVo viewers, my husband and I have been looking for ways to improve our TiVo experienced for quite awhile now. Good thing our long wait for some kind of improvements paid off. We really are pleased with the TiVo Premiere and the new TiVo Slide remote makes Fall TV season's best entertainment easier to discover than ever. Now, we can watch our favorite TV series like the Modern Family and the Mad Man without missing any single episodes. The best thing about it is that, we can even find upcoming episodes and entire previous seasons on Netflix, Amazon Video On Demand or Blockbuster On Demand. Isn't it great!?

Most of my friends watch Glee and Lost, and when we get together they talk about it a lot and how much fun and excitement they have had watching each episodes. I feel like I am so out off the loof. I will never let that happen again. I will need to subscribe to the Fall TV Guru Guide so I can join their conversations and have fun at the same time. Just like IMDB, with Premiere TiVo, I can even get updates with what is going on with my fave actors and what they've done on the show by watching them in YouTube, Amazon VOD, Blockbuster, and Netflix. The best feature I like about TiVo slide remote is the the retractable QWERTY keyboard; using this this feature makes entering the text easier than ever.

If I were you, I will never miss an episode of my favorite tv shows again. Check the Facebook Fan Page out to learn more about the TiVo Slide remote. You will be glad you did for it is easier, faster and more fun to use. Right now, there is a "30 Slides in 30 Days" sweepstakes where you will have a chance to win one for yourself. What are you waiting for? Enter to Win the sweepstakes by following them on Twitter and or became fan of them on Facebook. Hurry for this sweepstakes ends on the 22nd of Sept. 2010.

Nine years ago, I married the man of my dream.
The man who filled the emptiness in me.
Yes, I feel complete...my life is complete.
And I thank God for it.

To my dear, Husband....Happy 9th wedding anniversary.
Thanks for the nine blissful years.
I love you...and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
My prayer is for us to have more anniversaries to celebrate and enjoy.

Time flies so fast; I was very busy that I didn't even realize that it's almost weekend already. Time for Mommy Moments again. And here is my entry for this week with the theme: My Grandparents.

My father with my youngest niece.....couldn't find a picture of my father and Jake together aside from the one below.
Jake with his Lolo during his first visit to the Philippines. He was two and a half year in this photo..
With his Lola and late great Lola.....
and last but not the least, with his grandma and Grandpa when Jacob was six months old. They spent Christmas with their first grandchild (and us).

Mommy Moments: Wacky

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, September 09, 2010 18 comments
This week's theme for Mommy Moments is "Wacky." Good thing I didn't erase these wacky photos of my son. He does wacky poses and make faces when he is tired of me taking pictures of him. Time flies so fast; my son used to like pictures and he would even ask me sometimes, but since he is no baby anymore, he wouldn't pose unless he wears something he likes....like the heroes costumes and stuff like that.

Trip to Costco

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, September 08, 2010 4 comments
While at Costco yesterday, hubby and I had fun shopping for our food storage. We spent over $400 which is pretty much what we have expected considering the stuffs we bought will sustain us when emergency or disaster arise. They will also help us if unemployment visit us again. Since Costco had already displayed Halloween costumes for kids, we decided to buy Jacob his own Iron Man costume. It was a good deal compared to his costume last year and it fits perfectly on him when he tried it on yesterday. He loves it! We also got the keyboard key lighting for under 100 bucks so Jake would be able to learn basic steps on how to play it. I had fun playing with it myself :-).

MM: Pamana

I don't really have something special to give or pass on to my son when he grows up other than my love of learning. Hubby and I will give him the best education he could possibly have and our unconditional love for him. Jacob already inherited one which is the love of books; he loves to read and learn things. Hubby on the other hand has inherited an old chair from his Grandfather which will be pass on to our son when he gets his own place. I will take picture of it and add to this post later. Anyway, come share yours with us by clicking the badge below.

Okay, I forgot that I have a couple of pearl bracelets I could give to my son that he can pass on to his future wife and children. These jewelry were given to me by my mother.
