Thank God, We Didn't Get Hurt!

Posted by Cecile at Friday, November 20, 2009 8 comments
Tonight, after dinner, I decided to take some Bilo Bilo to Ate Delia. Before we go, I phoned her first to tell we are coming. She said it is raining, don't go because she doesn't want us to get sick, but I insisted that it's okay and that the rain stopped already. She said, go ahead but make sure you bring umbrella with you...and so I did. Our apartment is less than 10 minutes away from her house, so I wasn't in a hurry. When I was approaching the major intersection, the lights were green, that means nobody will turn left. In the middle of nowhere this guy decided to turn left and crash on us! I didn't even see him coming. All I know is that all of a sudden there was this loud screech sound of tires and then crashing and pushing us all the way to the curve. Our van's tire brook and I couldn't move it. The first thing I did was check my son because he was crying. Thank God he didn't get hurt; he was just scared! I was shocked and scared, too! Grabe nanginginig talaga ko sa takot. When I found out that my son is okay, I immediately called my husband's Cellphone, but for whatever reason, it wasn't receiving any call. Then, I called 911 to report the accident. By the way, the police station is very close to where the accident happened and responded right away. Another good thing happened, a guy happened to see the whole thing; he was behind the guy who hit us and testified that it wasn't my fault, but the other car instead. Oh my, what a relief! I was grateful for he man; sad to say, forgot to ask for his name because of the whole thing, I just wished I got his name and number to thank him. I really didn't know what to do! Thanks to the police officer who helped us the whole time. Both cars were towed and the same police officer drove us home. Even though it wasn't my fault, I should have listened to Ate Delia when she told me not to go. Oh well, I learned my lesson well again. I believe that God used her to warn me. We are home now, well go get our stuff left in the van tomorrow morning. Oh, finally I got hold of hubby who is at work and told him about the accident; fifteen minutes later, there he is knocking on the door just want to make sure we are fine. I just feel so lucky and blessed that God is always there to protect us. Accident happens no matter how careful we are...there is always someone who is not patient enough to wait for his turn.

Another Blessing From God!

WooHoo! At last, my hubby became a Tier once again, plus he got his seven year back from Texas Instruments. Beginning Monday, 16th of November, we would once again have good health insurance benefits; thus we don't need to pay $500 each month and $50 on every visit with our physicians. Whew, what a relief! Now, we will be able to add more on our savings... on top of the increase he just got yesterday! God is Good. He always listen to our plead. He never fail us! And we thank HIM for that!

My Ongoing Saga on Anemia

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, October 15, 2009 10 comments
Two months ago after my routine check with my Nephrologist, I was diagnosed with Anemia. I didn't know I was anemic! My iron level was low as well as my red blood cells. The level was too low - 3.5 instead of the normal count of 11.5; no wonder why I have been so tired, weak and literally have to drag myself everyday into taking care of my family and my responsibility at home. In addition to my sudden crazy monthly period that last for at least too weeks which is not normal; not to mention the heavy flow accompanied with big clots. My doctor said that this isn't good for my transplanted kidneys at all that is why he is thinking of blood transfusion to resolve this blood problem. I tell you I was soaking 5 to 6 pads a day! My doctor told me that is probably the caused of my anemia. So, he puts me into treatment which is iron infusion every Wednesday. I am done with 5 treatments, but unfortunately, that wasn't enough; now I need another 5 set of infusions and that is driving me nuts! So sad, because this treatment not only interferes with my daily chores, but also with my health since the treatment is not working. I still feel the same, nothing changed. My abnormal period is over but still need to see my gynecologist on Monday to see what's behind all these, hopefully to get answers with all our questions. Yesterday, I was told to go to emergency room when I start bleeding again.

This is the reason why I have been inactive with blogging lately. And I would like to apologize for not returning your visits, ec drops, comments and not doing some meme yet. Thank you all so much for thinking of me and all the visits as well; I sure appreciate them a lot! I am hoping to feel better soon so I can return all the favors and do the memes as well! Have a great day everyone and also happy Halloween in advance!

I am Busy as a Bee!

Yup, it is already 1:30 in the morning, but I am still wide awake working double time to finish the last task I've grabbed from PPP. Obviously, I am in need of money to send to my family in the Philippines who needs our help. Though they are not badly affected by the typhoon that caused damaging flood in Manila, they still need our support. We are just hoping that the flood from Cabanatuan will not reach them for one of the dam in Nueva Ecija has just released extra water accumulated from too much raining caused by typhoons that recently badly affected the Northern and Central parts of Luzon. I need to go to bed as soon as I am done with this opps. Hopefully, tomorrow I can start working with the tasks from Blogvertise which are about to expire any time this week.

Good News...

Posted by Cecile at Thursday, May 21, 2009 7 comments
I just want to share with you friends our happiness because finally, Matt got a job from T.I. (Texas Instruments), where used to work before we moved here in Virginia. I Knew all along that we will be able to get a job again, and the bonus is it in Texas! What a blessing God has given us! He always watches over us and knows when is the best time to give the blessings he promised us. It was funny because I really want us to move, but I feel like it is unfair that even though we have the means to pay a mortgage, because we have no job, we are being denied if buying a house. Anyway, the wait it is over now. And we are all excited to move. The thing is, T.I. wants Matt to be there in two weeks. How in the world we will going to move ourselves and stuffs for that short period of time? We want to sell some of the furniture or if not possible, donate them to salvation army. Oh boy, today is the beginning of my busy days packing stuffs and dropping things we no longer need at Goodwill. To all those who prayed for us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Job Interview

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, December 02, 2008 3 comments
Today I accompanied my husband on one of his job interviews that only lasted for an hour. It was a quick one so we have a chance to look at the area where he will be working in case he gets the job. We both like the job he is applying for because if hire the possibility of getting lay off again is small, plus the job would be easier and he doesn't have to stay in his workplace for 12 hours. Anyway, we are both hoping and praying that he will get hired. After the interview, we went driving around looking for a place to live. We both decided to live in a suburb area close to everything especially hospitals, schools and church and temple. It was fun day for us today and very productive, too!

Yes, your majesty....

Posted by Cecile at Saturday, November 22, 2008 6 comments
While my son and I were putting his puzzle together, some of the pieces fell down on the floor. I asked him to pick them up for me so we can continue putting the pieces into places. And so he did do what I told him; it was funny becuase he said "yes your majesty". I did't know where he learned that, but it's kind of cute hearig it from a four year old boy, not to mention from my own son. I always like it when I hear a child calls they parents "father and mother" instead of Mommy and Daddy. I like it. I just wished I started telling my son to call me that way when he was still young; I mean when he was still learning to talk. Now if I ask him now to call us father and mother it will confuse him because he is already used on calling us Mommy and Daddy.

Just few feet away....

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, November 18, 2008 4 comments
During lunch time today, hubby and I decided to go to Wal-Mart to buy some groceries. On our way there, he said he is starving. So we went to McDonalds and bought ourselves burgers and drinks. We ate at the parking lot of Wal-Mart before going inside the store. While we were eating, Matt got a phone call from one of the company he applied for. He stopped eating and took the call, while waiting I saw one of the customers loading her grocery bags up at the back of her car. I didn't like what she did when she just left the grocery cart behind her car and drove away. What a jerk! The grocery cart park is just few steps away from her. The cart was left in the middle of the parking lot! What was she thinking? The cart will eventually move forward and damage somebody else’s car. I hate it when people do that.

Fortune Teller, Wrong!

Posted by Cecile at Friday, November 14, 2008 8 comments
When I was a little girl, I used to believe on fortune teller. One time my mother's friend came to visit her; while waiting for my mother in the living room, she asked if I want my palm to be read by her and I said "yes" and so she started reading. After reading she told me that I am going to marry an old man and we would have lots of children. So I hold on to that to see if it is really going to happen till I became a young woman. Fortunately, that didn't happen. I never got into any relationship with an old man in my entire single life, thank goodness! So I stopped believing with fortune tellers since (not that I want to marry old man) I am glad I didn't. I am now happily married with my husband who is only 2 years older than me :-) and blessed with an active but smart son (that's what his teacher told us during the Parents and Teachers Conference) :-).

Feels like winter now...

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, October 21, 2008 0 comments
It's been very cold lately here in Virginia and we need to start using our fireplace again even though it isn't winter yet. Where we used to live, the weather this time is still pretty hot and instead of using fireplace, we would still be using or running the air-conditioner on. I am glad we moved here, for I can't stand the heat in Texas; can't even go for a walk for the temperature there can be high as 85% and up right now!

Halloween is not over yet....

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, October 15, 2008 9 comments
Christmas is fast approaching and we are all very excited. In the country where I grew up, decorating houses for Christmas start in the month of September; here in the U.S., we just put Halloween decors a couple of days ago; my son couldn't wait to have our Christmas tree up with the light on. I just keep telling him that as soon as the Halloween is over, we will put our tree up and he was happy to hear that even though it was like two more months before we can do that.

Bad news I got early this morning....

Posted by Cecile at Monday, October 13, 2008 18 comments
I received an early call this morning from my husband at work. First he asked if I am fine, and I said yes. I asked him "why?" He told me that he is going to get lay off from work. The company he works for is laying off 1200 people and the effective day will be February of next year. I am prepared for it that is why it did not come as a surprised for both of us. The first time he got laid off from Texas Instruments was very devastating to us. Silly, but we both cried and were worried what is going to happen to us. It took awhile for me to get over that feeling. It was even harder when we sold our house. I love that house in Texas so much that even now, I still get a teary eyes when I think about it. Hubby is only 8 months working at the company; exactly will have 1 year on February. I am just hoping he will get a job there, for they have 200 job openings on the other department, maybe a job somewhere else, maybe in Utah. I always have this feeling that everything is going to be fine when something unexpectedly happens in our life. I always know that God Is always there to help us. I have proven it many times. I know we will be ok. I thank Heavenly Father and Jesus for being there for us during those difficult times of our lives. They will never leave us.

Lazy weekends...

Posted by Cecile at Saturday, October 11, 2008 0 comments
I think this is going to be a lazy Saturday for us. While hubby is taking a nap, Jacob and I are just chilling' watching TV. and blogging. I can't think of things to do today than staying home with my family; and later today, we are planning to go to an open house near home. We are thinking of buying our second home if hubby's job didn't go overseas. There is a possibility that he is going to get laid off again from his job for the second time. It will be sad, but well what can we do? Life of the Kenyon’s has to move on no matter what.

Excited and nervous...

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, October 01, 2008 2 comments
I am excited and nervous at the same time because on Friday, I am going to do a volunteer work at my son's school. I am not sure how Jacob would react with me there in classroom. I just hope he will behave well and listens to what I will ask him to do without complain. He is a good kid, those mothers out there know what I am trying to say here. Our kids are sometimes good at listening to others, like their teachers, than their own parents.

I love shopping...

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, September 24, 2008 1 comments
I say I am a shopaholic person; why? I tell you why. I got upset with my husband the other day. And for me to cool down and avoid saying something that I will regret later, instead of talking with him, I went to the mall and shop. You wouldn't believe how much I spent. It wasn't right, but it made me feel better and forgave him for what he did. Well, didn't only shop for myself, but for him and our son, too. I bought myself a purse with matching wallet, a denim Capri short and a blouse. I got him three t- shirts and our son, a denim pants and long sleeve layered shirt. Now, do you agree with me or not?

Visit with my in-laws in Durham, NC

Posted by Cecile at Sunday, September 21, 2008 0 comments
We went to visit my in-laws in Durham yesterday, who flew all the way from New Mexico just to see us and their grandkids. They are at my brother in-laws house today and will be driving from there to Virginia to stay with us for a couple of days or so. Anyway, we have so much fun there; we took the kids to "BugFest", an annual fair in Raleigh, NC. It was so much fun seeing Cody and Jacob interact with each other. They love each other so much to the point that they wouldn't let go of each other. They were holding hands like a couple. Played together the whole time and didn't even care the bugs’ fest and how much fun to see them, all they care about were each other. They love playgrounds and inflatable slide and stuffs like that, but boy; they didn't really even care about it at all. We were for happy watching them playing together and talking, funny and so hilarious. Anyway, while talking to my mother in-law before going back home last night, she confirmed our anniversary and asked: tomorrow is your 7th year anniversary, right? I said yup...ahh, 6th, then got to thinking about it and started counting, then I didn't realized that it is actually 7th year and not 6th, just like I have written here the other night. Am I terrible or what, forgetting the exact years of our anniversary. We were all laughing, it was good my husband wasn't there :-) or else he would tease me to death!!! We all enjoyed our dinner at a Seafood Restaurant, where I ordered grilled trout, yummy! I will add pictures of our trip to the bug fest tomorrow...see you!

Another one of those busy days...

Posted by Cecile at Friday, September 19, 2008 8 comments
I have been busy today trying to get things done in the house before my in-laws visit from New Mexico this weekend. I have cleaned almost everything in the house except laundry, tub cleaning and changing the beddings in the guest room. I am glad becuase I was able to do my blogging despite of that. I was so busy that I even forgot to make dinner, so once again we ended up dining out. This thing needs to be stopped or we will be broke sooner or later. It becomes a habit now that we can not resist eating out despite of the fact that there are lots of veggies and seafoods in the refrigerator waiting to be cooked. Anyway, this Sunday, we will be celebrating our 6th Year Wedding Anniversary; I can not believe we made it this far, still together and growing strong.....and still very much in-love with each other despite the many ups and downs in our married life.......HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Pumpkin :-)!
