Mom's Choice of Makeovers Make-Up or Spa: We love mom just the way she is, but every woman likes to "freshen up."

I wished my Mom is here so I can give her a special treat like maybe one on the 5 lists I posted here. Oh, well I can still send her something and still make her happy.

Anyway, here some great ideas to make your your mother feels great on this "special day".

Happy Mother's Day to Every Mother's Out There!!!

  • Make-Up or Spa: Does mom need new make-up or a beauty product rejuvenation? You could make an appointment at the local spa (like last year) or, better yet, pamper her with cool personal care gifts that she can use at home for more than just a day.
  • Wardrobe Update: Or, you can kick-off the wardrobe makeover that mom has been hinting about by hiring a personal shopper. Many department stores offer this service, where a shopper can make suggestions as to what works with your mother's style and how to step it up.
  • Room Redo: If it's a room in your mother's home that could use a facelift, rally the family and perk up a room with new throw pillows, accessories, even a paint job.
  • Treat Mom to Tea

The Butterfly

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, April 28, 2009 7 comments
Fast Facts

The
butterfly is one of the most endearing insects in the world, and there’s quite a bit more than their beauty to be amazed about:

The largest butterfly in the world is the Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing. It lives in the rain forests of New Guinea and has a wingspan of 11 inches. This particular butterfly is an endangered species.

The smallest butterfly in the world is the Western Pygmy Blue, which has a half-inch wingspan.

Butterflies can live in their adult form from a week to a year, depending on their species.

Butterfly wings are colored by scales on the wing; the pigments in these scales create black or brown colors, while blues, greens, reds, and iridescent hues are created by the way light hits differently structured scales.

Butterflies taste with their feet.

There is a butterfly named the Common Mormon butterfly; it is found in India.

Best Laser Hair Removal in NYC

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, April 22, 2009 1 comments
Having unwanted hair in the body to some especially woman is really a big deal. It drives them nuts sometimes. Some women are very conscious with their physical appearance that even the hair in certain parts of their bodies are meticulously shaved. Let say hair on their faces, legs, arms, armpit or underarms, bikini all types, chest, abdominal, back or full body, and buttocks. I knew a neighbor who has a lot of hair on her body including her face. She said one time that she didn't want it remove because she thinks men think it is sexy. But then later she realized it wasn't true at all. So she started shaving those unwanted hairs on her body and wasn't very happy at all. Why/ Because they grow so fast and she gets tired of shaving them. Anyway, if you want your unwanted hair be removed permanently, there is a place in New York City who does that kind of job. It is quite expensive though and that is the reason why most of their clients are rich people particularly women who are married to rich guys. Laser Hair Removal is located in New York City and they are known for as the best laser hair removal nyc. They do this kind of service to those people who wants flawless skin without any sight of hair in their skin. There is nothing to worry about the process for it is done very quick and painless and no risk of infection whatsoever is going to happen. This is a high tech company whose purpose is to make people happy and confident with their physical appearance. Why don't you visit their website to learn more about permanent hair reduction?

Lessons in Life

Posted by Cecile at Monday, April 20, 2009 6 comments
Attending my grandmother's funeral taught me a lot of lessons in life.

First: I learned that we need to save for our future including money for our funeral and related stuffs. If we failed to do it, our loved one will not only grieve for their lost, but also will suffer stress because of the financial responsibilities we left them such as payment for burial, unpaid debt and so forth.

Second: we need to hold a reunion while our folks are still alive. We do not want to have the reunion done only after they die.

Third: what is done, can never be undone. So, before you say something, think it ten times or you might regret what you've said.

Four: if you want to say something to certain person, say it directly to her/him.

Fifth: gossip, don't pass it on!

These are lessons in life that we sometimes forget or neglect to do. Let us not forget these things, for by so doing...our life's challenges would be very much easier to handle. Don't you agree?

Are You Looking for Camping Tools?

Posted by Cecile at Monday, April 20, 2009 0 comments
My family and I loves camping. Just recently while I was out of the country, my husband and son went on a camping and really enjoyed the cool weather activities like hiking, fishing, mountain biking and of course the eating and cooking on the campfire. We are planning to go again this coming weekends since the weather has been very good lately. It is nice to have found the website where we can buy Camping Tools and stuffs. We need a new tent since our son bigger now. Mountain Fitter.com is a place where you can find everything you need in camping. They have accessories, backpacking stuffs, health and safety things, hydration and filtration, things you need in the kitchen, lighting, sleeping bags and shelter, survival and tools necessary when camping. Anyway, I really like the spork and bugaboo mess kit and the GSI kitchen 23 set. If you need stuffs for you next camping trip, you better visit their website first.

How To Store Baby Clothes and Keepsakes

Posted by Cecile at Monday, April 20, 2009 0 comments

Keeping your baby’s precious little clothes and blankets in good condition for future generations can be done easily. Imagine the joy or embarrassment your child will feel when you share those first clothes with a future spouse! This step-by-step guide will ensure that the items will be stored safely away.

Here's How:
  1. Make sure the garments or blankets are clean by laundering or dry-cleaning each piece.
  2. Purchase a storage box that is made of cast polypropylene which is an inert material used for archival storage. Rubbermaid and Sterlite offer boxes of every size in this material. Look for the #5 within the recycling triangle or the letters “PP” to ensure that you have the correct type of box.
  3. Purchase archival tissue paper that is both acid and lignin – a chemical compound derived from wood - free.
  4. Wash and dry your hands before handling items – no lotion or creams that can stain clothing. If there are any metal buttons, remove them and store separately. The metal can corrode and cause staining.
  5. Cover a flat area like a bed or table with a layer of archival tissue. Lay the items out face down on the tissue. Lightly stuff any sleeves, hats or dimensional areas with tissue.
  6. Beginning on one side and working around the garment, fold to the center interweaving each fold with a sheet or two of tissue. The tissue will cushion the folds to help prevent creasing. Continue around the garment until it is completely covered with tissue.
  7. Place the item in the storage box. Repeat steps with each individual item.
  8. Choose a cool, dry space for storage. The ideal spot is an interior space away from exterior walls and plumbing pipes that might burst. Avoid extreme temperatures areas like attics, basements and garages.
  9. Inspect the garments at least once per year. Look for any stains that may appear and treat them promptly. Refold garments slightly differently to minimize creases and stress to fabric.
What you need:
  • Baby keepsakes
  • Polypropylene storage box
  • Archival quality tissue paper
