Create a Cleaner, Healthier Home

Posted by Cecile at Tuesday, May 05, 2009
I got these tips from Lowe's , just thought of sahring it with you, guys :-)!

Use these tips as a starting point to clear the air, purify the water and clean the surfaces in your home:

Clean Air TipClean Air Tip: Understanding Air Purifiers
Even if you've taken the proper steps to keep your air
clean – changing HVAC filters, vacuuming regularly or using Febreze® Fabric Refresher™ – you may still want the extra insurance of an air purifier, especially when living with individuals that have respiratory problems.

There are two basic kinds of air purifiers: tabletop and whole room units. Tabletop units are less expensive and can be toted to rooms as needed. Whole room units have larger filters and collecting plates and, therefore, do a better job of cleaning the air.

Clean Water TipClean Water Tip: Water Filter Options
The popularity of bottled water over the past several years is a clear indication that people are more than aware of the impurities that can be found in tap water. But improving the drinking water in your home is really as easy as installing a water filter. And today you have more choices than ever before.

Clean Surfaces TipClean Surfaces Tip: Countertop Tips
You know that towel you just used to wipe off your countertop? It might have done more harm than good. Towels and sponges, when not taken care of properly, can actually spread germs around. This is especially dangerous when cleaning up after raw meats, which can lead to cross-contamination.

Your best strategy for keeping countertops and other kitchen surfaces clean is two-fold: first, wipe away any visible messes.

Together, Home Made Simple and Lowe’s provide you with simple solutions for easy living in a cleaner, healthier home. This is just a sampling of all the tips, projects and products Lowe’s has to offer to help you make your healthy home a reality. For more great solutions visit Lowe’s Healthy Home.
